This Grade 2.5-3.0 arrangement requires the technical skills, range, and maturity of high school or college-level performers and accomplished pianist. After a short, delicate introduction, the melodic theme of the carol is introduced by the soloist in Concert Key of D major. There is a modulation into Eb Major for the 3rd and final verse. The range is not extreme, rhythmic demands are minimal, and the tune, which is well known, makes this an easy piece to put together and a popular choice for performances in many types of church services during the Christmas season.
