Iade of the Mountains II
Darcy Baldwin
Iade, Queen of the Kingdom of the Mountains, is cruelly betrayed. Whilst in audience with the Empress of Salaar, Iade's own brother, Dateus, accuses her of attempting an assassination upon the Empress. Iade is taken as prisoner by the vengeful subjects of the Empress, and thrust into gaol deep under the fortress of Araliasvel. Her protestations of innocence go unheard. She is sentenced to execution for her heinous crime. Whilst in her cell, Iade realises that her brother's intention is to usurp her throne. Iade's only companion and ally at Araliasvel is the Priestess Sarelle. Together, they escape Araliasvel by a dark passage down into the deeps of the world. Will they return to the surface? Will they return to Iade's beloved Mountains? Will they survive to bring justice upon Dateus?
