'Conversations with Georgie' addresses victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment, as well as therapists or anyone confronted with trauma. What is going on in their patients' minds, really? Katharina's trauma story is not as extreme as what many others may have to relate, but after a doctor recognizes the roots of depression and blasts the past free, she describes as authentically as she can to her cat-turned-therapist what it was like to go through the healing process of wounds aquired through dysfunctional family dynamics and narcissistic abuse in early childhood. When grief and panic become overwhelming, Katharina begins researching wherever she can get information and support, realizing that her story, common as it is, may be the least understood in the profession.
