G. C. Bailey's The Unrequited, is a story is about Grant Bateman, an ex-military officer, who is in love with his childhood friend, Lorene Walsh. Lorene is in Europe where Grant had been stationed and when he learns she is near, decides to stay in Europe to try and convince her to return to America with him.
