The Crow and the Harp is Steve Cain's seventh book and is a collection of poetry and short stories. The title poem is a tale of how a party gets out of hand after an unexpected guest arrives. The story "Between the Devil and..." is a tale of love gone sour, and the steps that a young man will take to try to end it and save his fortune. "The Girl with the Red Umbrella" is a story of a young girl who is mourning the loss of her mother and does not think she can go on any longer. The poems "Prologue-Where Am I?" "Intermission-Who Am I Talking To?" and "Epilogue-Why, God?" continue the saga of Steve and his muse, only now the roles are reversed, and Steve finds himself now locked away. With other poems and songs such as "Becoming the Machine," "Messiah Wolf," "Adrift," "The Jesus Candle," "When I Said I Love You," "Voices in the Trees," and many others, Steve Cain will take you on a journey of imagery, illusion, and madness.
