Amelia Ethan
In spite of their exceptionally enormous size, giant mantas are like the biggest fishes (whale shark and basking shark) and the biggest warm blooded animals (blue whale) in that they eat minuscule microscopic fish. They continually swim alongside their huge mouths open, separating tiny fish and other little food from the water. To help in this technique, giant mantas have specific folds, known as cephalic projections, which help direct more water and food into their mouths.
