Reuben Swinburne Clymer
One of the most intriguing works of Reuben Clymer, "Christisis" at once posits a sort of internal spiritual state, as well as a quasi-entity combining goodness, self awareness, and power via spiritual initiation. While the text stresses a belief in the specific god of Christianity, its methodology is heavily influenced by Eastern lore- such as the use of "healthy" breathing and self reflection. The partly metaphoric "Christisis" is half-seriously labeled the "coming savior" of mankind which will cast off much of the trouble and want in the current world.
