When people write on revival, they normally focus on Old Testament revivals, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and then they skip to the revivals over the last 300 years. There is normally nearly no focus on the first 1600 years. Many treatises on revival do not even include the Reformation.

This booklet gives a short overview of a few noteworthy revival-type stories - beginning at the Early Church and then the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages, up to the Reformation.
