From Me to You: Poems of My Youth Jeanette Shivers

Although I no longer write poems, one night I stumbled across this collection of poems that I had written during my high school and young adulthood life. For many of the poems the writing had almost faded off the paper. The poems show my growth as well as express many of the emotions that I dealt with during this time period in my life. On some of the original poems I even made notes of why I wrote them. I wish to share these poems with you because they represent a developmental stage that many of us stumble through as we search to find the real us. I'm not sure if the young me would even recognize the woman I am today, because so much of that young girl I had forgotten until I reread these poems. This is not just a collection of poems, but a journey through a special stage in life. As you read From Me to You: Poems of My Youth, you will see the essence of my soul on paper.
