The adventures of Troy, Maggie, and Dan continue as the trio tries to navigate their way through new idioms whose meanings they are yet to discover. When they find out that babies are not born with silver spoons in their mouths, the children are convinced that they will never misinterpret an idiom again. But they are mistaken.
The three friends learn another valuable lesson only days later as Maggie receives advice to put a bug in her mom's ear to change her mind about a weekend trip. The young girl asks her friends for help, and it soon turns into a mess. But as always, the children find a way to turn their misunderstanding into fun and expand their vocabulary.
Life for Troy, Maggie, and Dan never gets boring as they try to paint the town red, figure out how to sell an arm and a leg for a bike, keep their ear to the ground to find out about the best ticket sales, and discover who their parents' spitting image is. While they learn about these new idioms, the children have fun, get angry, apologize, and laugh a lot. Still, they are always grateful for these unexpected, comic incidents.
