Max Knight and his brother Art opened their own security company after leaving the armed forces. Max served as a Delta Forces for the United States Army. He worked with some of the very best men and women and wanted to hire veterans for his company. Kansas Security Investigations can work under the circumstances that are outside the law enforcement realm. They have worked with the state and federal government on cases where law enforcement was unable to step in and find out information. When Max was brought in by the local police chief to help solve a kidnapping of a local doctor and his wife, Max didn't realize that he would be meeting his future.

Samantha Jackson was the ex-wife of a mob boss from Topeka. She ran away with her son and went into hiding. Not only does she loose her husband, her son gets sick and dies. Her husband kidnapped the doctor and his wife that had treated his son. Then he kidnapped the doctor's daughter Norma and her best friend, Staci.

A year later, Max meets Samantha for the first time when she moves to Newton Park. Samantha is weary of any man, especially a good looking muscled up ex-military man. Will Samantha give in to Max's requests? What will happen to Samantha when someone from her past comes back and tries to scare her back to Topeka?
