Whose son or daughter are you? How does the fact that you were brought up by a father impact your life? If you weren't raised by your father how has that fact shaped your life? The truth is that most of us are never completely aware of how much our fathers influence our earthly existence. This they do by either being present or absent in our lives while growing up. Our character, world-view, personality, self-image and self-esteem just to name but a few are greatly dependent on how healthy that relationship has been since our first day in the world.

As it is true concerning our relationship with our human fathers, it is with the spiritual experience of God as the ultimate Father. Experiencing God as the Father that He really is in the Gospel, or the lack of it, is a major ground on which lives are either healed or continue in pain.
