Great pastors are those who leave a long- lasting legacy behind. They do not only build institutions, they build men. They have an excellent spirit. To them being called to serve, is a privilege, not a right. They live like debtors to their generation. These pastors do not emphasize what men owe them but see themselves as being called to serve. Their glory is not in the crowd in their churches but in their credibility; not in their beautiful churches but in the beautiful lives that come as a result of the sermons they preach; not in their worldly riches but in the impact of the principles of righteousness in the lives of their congregation. In all things, they do not model the CEOs of this world but they follow the path of the great CEO of the universe- our Lord Jesus Christ. In an age where mediocrity is the statusquo, great pastors are rare but everyone who is desirous to do a great work for God can be one. In this short book, I outline some of the principles that will turn you into a great pastor. In fact, they are universally applicable to all, regardless of vocation or profession. It will ignite in you a passion for excellence and a burning desire to put your footprints in the sands of time. I pray that God of all wisdom will grant you grace and strength as you master these principles and make them part of your life. May it enrich you in every way and help you to bring up men and women who will be pillars for Christ on this earth and be cornerstones, polished after the similitude of palaces in the kingdom of heaven. (Psalm 144:12)
