Having found himself in Florence suspiciously often, Harry Cochrane decided to settle as an Anglo-Florentine in 2018. Despite the crushing weight of art and history that seems to make the atmospheric pressure higher than in other parts of the world, Florence has not yet persuaded him to give up scribbling poems. Instead, it has shouldered its way into most of his writings, as have the country and the people it belongs to. At the core of this book are poems previously published in The Florentine, alongside others written in Florence, about Florence or around Florence.
