Chapter I. The objective of the present work was to evaluate and characterize genetic resources from the Active Wheat Germplasm Bank (BAGT) of the Agronomic Institute of Paraná (IAPAR). For the characterization and evaluation of accessions, in April 2010, 209 accessions of BAGT-IAPAR and 16 control cultivars were sown in the experimental area of IAPAR in Londrina, in a simple layout (15x15) and data from 16 morphological and agronomic characteristics were taken. The 225 accessions characterized represent 49% of the total of wheat accessions in BAGT-IAPAR that were regenerated and multiplied, and can be directed to crosses focusing on pre-breeding. Chapter II. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the morphological and agronomic characterization of seven promising accessions of sweet potato, relating the agronomic descriptors related to the productivity of plants to their production components.
