Imaging plays a very crucial role at every step in endodontics, as various hard tissue parameters are considered during the treatment for a successful outcome. Traditional imaging have advantages but with improved technology the disadvantages weigh more than advantages. With newer imaging reconstruction techniques introduced a three-dimensionally information can be achieved by the clinician for routine endodontic and surgical treatment planning. The advantages and limitations of traditional and modern imaging methods are discussed briefly.
