The content of my book chapter indicated the genetic progress of soybean since the commencement of soybean research in Ethiopia. Soybean breeding started in 1950 by evaluating soybean varieties that were released in other countries after adaptation the variety conducted and then after, a number of soybean varieties have been released in Ethiopia. Since the commencement of soybean research started in Ethiopia. There has been no work conducted in Ethiopia to evaluate and document the progress made in improving the genetic yield potential and associated traits of soybean varieties by grouping them into different maturity (early, medium, and late) classes. The research work was done to document make available the genetic progress made in Early, Medium, and late soybean varieties in Ethiopia since the commencement of soybean research in Ethiopia.
