This book looks at the impact of Boko Haram and the religious conflict on the local and global self-image of the Church as well as the impact on the Church's mission in Nigeria. The Church's response and commitment to the mission are very unique, differing from the Early Church's response as well as the response of the Church in North Africa's history. The religious challenge in Nigeria provides opportunities that are hard to see due to threats to life involved. The book argues that the experience of the Nigerian Church serves as a test for global Christianity in its missional expansion. Taking advantage of the opportunities this challenge offers will grow the Church locally and globally. Failing to take advantage of the same, however, will plunge the Church into deeper crises of self-image and missional responsibility.
