Stabilization of soil can improve its engineering properties by increasing the shear strength. This paper reports the results of laboratory investigation carried out on expansive soil collected from Rajendrapur area, Bangladesh stabilized with fly ash in varying percentages which is an industrial waste. Expansive soil shows a huge amount of volume changes with the change in moisture content, causing serious problems to the civil engineering structures. So the aim is to treat the expansive soil problem by fly ash to improve subgrade properties as well as utilizing an industrial waste.
