On Vereld, the dark god's plans to bring the entire world to its knees are inexorably heading towards fruition. Vereld's only hope are the Redeemers: Anili, princess of a dead land and a lost people; Jon, fugitive from another world; and Orrin, heir to a stolen throne. The Redeemers, singled out by an autistic savant's prophecy to protect the world from ultimate destruction: desperately searching for possible allies in the coming battle, they are faced with ever mounting odds. Meanwhile, on Earth a cabal of powerful men have discovered a link to Vereld and sent an elite team to reconnoitre in preparation for conquering and subjugating a whole world to replace the one their greed is well on the way to destroying. But worse is yet to come, as an aeons-old, infinitely dangerous entity struggles to break free of its prison in the darkness between the stars.
