Demographic Characteristics and Livelihood Strategies of Refugees: the Case of Eritrean Refugees in Shimelba Refugee Camp Tigray Region, Northern Ethiopia Shishay Tadesse

The main purpose of this book is to assess the demographic characteristics, livelihood strategies Eriterean refugees deployed and to identify the determinant factors that influence refugees' participation in gainful livelihood strategies in the camp. To detect the factors, different statistical tools were used. To this end, different factors were recognized and based on the findings, conclusions and recommendations were made on how care and support for the refugees could be made so as to sustain their life. Hence, since there has not been scientific study to explore the livelihood strategies of refugees in camp and the factors behind in Ethiopia, this monograph will be extremely helpful for both the humanitarian and government organizations working for the well being of the refugees which is the burning agenda of every country at this time.
