The experiment was carried both under field condition as well as in the net house. In the field, irrigated (with As contaminated water) and non-irrigated soils were used. In the net house, soil monoliths of the irrigated and non-irrigated phases were used. Samples of soil, plant and water from the irrigated and non-irrigated fields were collected three times in the cropping season. BRRI dhan-29 rice variety was grown in the irrigated and non-irrigated soil monoliths. The non-irrigated soil monolith was considered as control. Only tap water was used as irrigation water for this monolith. For irrigated soil monoliths, 0.5 mg/L water was used as irrigation water. Significant changes (p=0.000) in the As contents at different soil horizons were observed for samples collected before the onset of irrigation and after the end of irrigation. Changes of As in different horizons of the irrigated soil profile were influenced by some properties of the soil like Fe, P, pH, clay, and organic matter content.
