Indian culture and its rich heritage of tradition are reflected in many ways and the crafts, costumes, embroideries of various region of this country are some among them. Each state in India has its own set of crafts, fine arts, rituals and festivals forming unique tradition. The most famous craft of Himachal Pradesh is weaving of Kullu shawls. These shawls have unique designs and colour combinations. Designs are generally geometrical and influenced by the household surroundings and nature. The weaving of Kullu shawls is not restricted to one community in Himachal Pradesh, it is deep rooted in daily life of the people and people irrespective of their caste and status weave the shawls.
