Female Genital Cutting is one of the harmful traditions widely Practiced in Ethiopia. In the study area the dominant reasons for cutting are to suppress women?s sexual desire and to make girls marriageable. There are many other socio-economic factors including religion, culture, stigma and discrimination towards uncircumcised girls, and source of income for circumcisers who were mainly Traditional Birth Attendants.
