Environmentally Responsible Banking in Usa: Green Lessons for Bangladesh from USA Banking Sector
Shah Habib
This is a review of environmentally responsible or green banking practices of US banks to draw lessons for Bangladesh banking sector. An independent analysis of green banking practices does not give expected outcome as it is just a component of the whole green initiatives undertaken by a group of stakeholders for protecting global environment. So, in addition to the analyses and examinations of USA and Bangladesh banking practices, the study covers the roles and perspectives of all stakeholders of green initiatives in these economies. Based on the lessons, the study suggests a guiding framework for adopting and improving environmentally responsible practices by banks in Bangladesh.
