The gender division of household labor allied with economic and socio-cultural factors. Thus resulted most of the middle class woman have to face indescribable constrains to uphold their both house and market work. Augment in female labor supply accompanied by generation of demand for female labor in new forms of production has also affected women?s career in working sector in Bangladesh. Moreover, unchanging pattern of gender division of household carries negative implications for women?s career. Gender division of household labor makes unthinkable problem to establish their career by various ways. Nowadays it expands as an extreme social ill, because social and cultural practices enhance capitalist attitude of power. So, we need to weed out so called gender role based practices to lessen gender division of household labor. The main purpose of this paper is to explain impact of gender division of household labor on middle class employed women?s career development.
