The study is based on polymer:fullerene blend organic solar cells and comprises the absorption spectra and external quantum efficiency(EQE) for different combinations of the poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT): [6,6]-phenyl C60 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) blend organic solar cells. The external quantum efficiency for different combinations has been illustrated lately in order to analyze. The Voltage versus current density curve for different combinations has also been illustrated and the fill factors (FF) for those combinations have been calculated. For the P3HT: PCBM organic solar cells , the EQE is lowest for the 1:4 P3HT: PCBM combination, increases gradually for the 1:2 and 1:0.5 combination and is at the maximum for the 1:1 P3HT: PCBM combination. The current density follows the same route. The study shows that the maximum EQE can be obtained around the 500 nm wavelength, which widens the scope of future research and further improvement in device performance.
