This book is a study of the narrative of ?Lust, Caution? written by Eileen Chang and made into a film by Ang Lee, which explores the psychological influences and motives in the principal character of Wang Jiazhi. In the film, the heroine Wang Jiazhi uses lust as a temptation to try to carry out the mission of assassinating the traitor, Mr. Yee. This episode was the most discussed and controversial in the entire story. Many doubts and speculations are still under discussion by scholars, concerning whether or not this scenario represents true love between them. Does Wang Jaizhi join the assassination plot due to feminine awakening or blind patriotism? How can the Wang Jiazhi/Mr. Yee affair be interpreted for feminine liberation in modern Chinese society?
