The study of children development from cultural perspective is very essential to address the needs and overall development of children. More importantly, to deal with the psycho-social and educational development of children. The Borana Oromo inhabited the southern part of Oromia and still maintained the traditional and democratic institution called the Gadaa System. They have uncontaminated childcare and socializing system in their own culture. These practices are not well documented and studied though they can be taken as good practices in children rearing. Hence, the project has immense contribution in fulfilling the gaps and revealing the unique and useful traditional practices of Borana Oromo culture of child care.
