Logistic Management: Processes and Methods

Logistics is relatively new subject of interest of production or service organizations. In the middle of past century it was oriented only on partial problems, as management of inventories or transport. Later, when competition increased and organizations have to change their orientation from their own problems to customer demands, the role of logistics became more important. It has to focus not only on these traditional topics, but on managing the whole Supply Chain. The book involves logistic topics as forecasting, purchasing, logistic services, inventory management and transport. It presents also methods and examples of Supply Chain analysis and synthesis. Reading this book makes possible to compare the role of logistics in the Czech Republic, where it officially develops from 1991, and to review its progress with other industrial countries.
