It is clear now that viral hepatitis C (HCV) is a major health problem. The magnitude of the problem is quite high in Egypt being declared as having the world's highest prevalence of HCV infection. This book addresses various aspects of HCV with emphasis on its prevalence in Egypt, therapeutic measures and features of post-transplant recurrence. As available therapeutic measures a re lengthy and fraught with complications and side effects, the choice of patients plays a major role in reaching highest levels of success. Hence, predictive factors of a beneficial response were also highlighted.
