The book is written based on anthropometric measurements and the collected data is compared with other social and economic factors to find out relations between gender difference and status of malnutrition in rural Bangladesh. The World Health Organization approved National Center for Health Statistics (NCSH) standards of measuring malnutrition is used to compare the nutritional status of the rural children. Three types of malnutrition is measured they are, Weight for Age (Underweight), Height for Age (Stunting) and Height for Weight (Wasting). Collected data are analyzed using ?Epi info? soft ware recommended from Food and Nutritional Department of University of Dhaka. It is found, a higher probability of child?s malnutrition in rural area than that of general nutritional status of children in all over the nation. Parent?s educational status and economic condition or family income is found highly correlated with children?s nutritional status. Mother?s knowledge of child rearing and health awareness is also positively impacted on children?s malnutrition. It is recommended to increase awareness of parents and ensure equal opportunity to rural people for a better nourished nation.
