Simvastatin, a crystalline substance, is a widely used drug for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia. It is a BCS class II drug, having low aqueous solubility (0.76 mg/L) exhibiting poor dissolution pattern and low oral bioavailability (5%). The purpose of this study was to apply the attractive technique of the microwaves fusion for the preparation of solvent-Simvastatin, a crystalline substance, is a widely used drug for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia.
