Genetic engineering is known as the most powerful tool for crop improvement. This book, reviews the most popular gene transformation methods (Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and Particle bombardment) on banana genetic engineering and highlights the role of pathogen related (PR) proteins in banana improvement such as PR2, PR3 and PR5.
