This book present results of research study carried out on the emerging Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Communication Systems and its impact on the global business performance and the society in general. The findings are that M2M Systems have great potential and wide areas of applications including in transportation, utilities, security, retail and healthcare. M2M are bringing a new wave of change and a digital revolution to the fourth phase namely Pervasive Computing, which in turn will create a Ubiquitous Society. In today's globalised market environment,all organisations are continuously seeking new strategic ways for value identification, creation and delivery in the most productive and efficient way possible while minimising the impact on the environment. Emerging M2M systems seems to offer the required solutions and it involves the integration of old and new communication devices to integrate business operations for improved productivity. The rationale behind is, when a machine is connected to the communication systems, its value increase as it provides access to realtime data for quick decision making. Information is the new currency for the global economy!
