Over the past three decades, Radio-frequency identification (RFID) technologies have evolved to become central components of many diverse systems and applications. Recently, RFID has attracted extensive attention both from the business and the academic community. Every year many new, previously potential uses of RFID technology turn out to have efficient applications for society and industry. In this book, Ba?c? investigates current RFID technology and its applications, and he proposes two innovative potential uses of the technogy: An RFID Based Payment Control System for Stores, and an RFID Based Employee Control System for Multi-Plant/Multi- Location Companies. For each potential application, Ba?c? propses a detailed systems design, including the system components, business processes, data flows and key performance measures. The systems are then evaluated with a simulation model. A detailed performance measurement and comparison with the current system is provided along with the basic financial feasibility study necessary for launching the proposed systems. In conclusion, this book shows that the proposed systems are highly promising for real life applications.
