Impressions of growth of any settlement are portrayed in the pattern of Land use, structure and morphology, thus it makes it necessary to study the evolution of the land use pattern, structure and the layout. Land constitutes the most important component for sustainable development in a region. This study, on Khuruskul union, Cox?s Bazar Sadar upazila, is an attempt to bring out land use pattern and socio-economic condition of inhabitant of that area which acts as driving force to change land use pattern over period of time. This study of land resources, existing land use pattern and socio-economic conditions of inhabitants represents a conceptually correct means of addressing the unifying issue of economic and environmental sustainability.
