Regulations concerning automotive emissions are becoming more stringent in recent times, and consequently more research efforts have been directed toward lowering the environmental impact of pollutants emitted by vehicles and industries. Transition metal oxides or mixed oxides are established as inexpensive alternatives to precious metal and noble metal containing catalysts.
