Integration of Polish Construction Workers: the Role of the Labour Unions
Przemyslaw L. Cielen
This book is based on qualitative study of Polish construction workers in Olso county and their recepction of labour unions activity. Author shares a conviction that integration, between labour immigrants, starts (and often ends) at the workplace. Study shows problems in cooperation between - Polish labour union members employed in temporary work agencies and union structures. On the basis of voiced needs study shows what kind of activities are expected from unions that decided to focus on gaining foreign members. Study shows that picture of Poles that doesn't want to organize themselves in host country (very common in Norway) is simply false.
