Transitioning societies are increasingly incorporating mechanisms of transitional justice in order to alleviate tensions that may give rise to further antagonism between conflicting groups. My interest was first aroused in the possibility of such a procedure for Israel?Palestine in a post conflict situation, while researching the perceived success of the South African experience. My focus is on the merits and design of a truth commission for Israel-Palestine.
