The relationship between soil organic carbon and aggregate stability was evaluated in order to know the amount of carbon sequestered from the atmosphere by different tree species, land-use and temporal variation in a forested ecosytem in northern Nigeria. These factors have great influence on soil organic carbon pools and therefore their restorative ability and will inturn improve soil quality and provide good opportunity to combat soil degradation and improve food security.
