Seeds of Terminalia mentalis(T.mantaly) were subjected to some pretreatment techniques aimed at enhancing germination. The pretreatments were: Boiled seeds, Nipped seeds, Cold water soaking, No pretreatment(CONTROL),and Sulphuric acid scarification(SAS). Nipping tended to enhance considerably the rate of germination of T.mantaly. It requires certain experience but apart from a pair of secateurs,no further input is required.
