The decade long NATO-plus War on Terrorism could not ensured peace in Afghanistan, rather it is gradually moving towards another Vietnam for the United States and its allies. No side can secure total victory. Apparently, the extremist community has an upper hand over the military men of a ?civilized' world. Without withdrawal, there is not any other option for restoring peace, however, withdrawal means victory of militants, militancy and failure of NATO and ISAF, opting which is irrational. Therefore, this work sees to the anarchic Afghanistan through a different lens and proposes the use of traditional conflict resolving mechanism called Jirga system, to control this downward trend. The international community has tried enough to counter the Taliban and al-Qaida through sheer use of force but all in vein. This work also challenges the suitability and credibility of the existing Loya Jirga ? the Afghan grand council. This work will strive to open a new debate in policy making and academic circle regarding Afghanistan peace struggle. This book is also useful for general readers.
