The objective of the study is to lay special emphasis on occupational stress in the working of security forces and local police: the custodians of internal security, as its potential negative implications affect performance in more direct and critical ways as compared to stress in many other occupations. The current study is a sincere attempt to explain the standard occupational stress factors linked to the arduous operations of the security forces and police with supporting situational examples derived from the public domain.
