Road accident in highways killed nearly thousand people and injured several others every year in Bangladesh. The number of accident deaths and injuries is increasing by time. Growth of population, rapid and unplanned urbanization and motorization make this situation worsen. Pedestrians are most vulnerable road user group in Bangladesh. Unfit vehicles, improper training of drivers, poor maintenance and carelessness of people are the causes of accident. Climatic condition has an influence on road accident. Most of the accident has occurred by bus itself. Integrated management system can reduce the number of accidents in highways. For road safety government initiatives and participation of other organizations is very important.
