Turbulence exists in almost all real flow problems; and its modeling is one of the major concerns in modern aerodynamics and in many engineering flows. This project shares equally the features of aerodynamics as well as CFD and is about modeling of external compressible flow over a body (airfoil) using one of the turbulence modeling techniques (i.e. Spalart-Allmaras 1 Equation model) in CFD. The computational domain has been generated in 2D by the use of Gambit which is Fluent?s geometry and mesh generation software. The generated mesh was then successfully exported to Fluent solver where the flow over the body (airfoil) was simulated using turbulence model Spalart-Allmaras (1-Eqn) for different angle of attacks and different Mach numbers. The project finds its application in commercial and fighter aircraft, helicopter and turbine blades etc.
