This work tries to integrate and classify occupational values of two cities? social work students and social workers? by using both sociology and anthropological lens, informants come mainly from Beijing and Paris. The conclusion is that occupational value is the representation of definite cultural context and is closely connected with the always changing social policies and also one?s personal decision. Social work is both international and local; its international core value should be considered and practiced according to local situation.
