The number of incarcerated males in the United States has seen a dramatic increase in recent years. With this dramatic increase there has been an increase in the number of incarcerated individuals possessing mental illness. Depression affects many individuals within the prison system and it is vital that an efficacious way of treating these individuals be developed and supported. Furthermore the use of effective instrumentation be utilized when available. A question as to the utility of group therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy was posed.
