Today, with the assistance of information technology, market globalization can be realized. Nevertheless, manufacturing quality is still a decisive factor for global market competition, and exploring an effective statistical method for improving process quality in a complex manufacturing system is an issue. Yet, the impact of information technology on statistical process control has not been well recognized. Therefore, statistical quality technology in multistage process control and the impact of information technology on statistical process control are discussed. In this book, a method will be introduced and a set of guidelines will be proposed to improve the overall process capability in a multistage process. Two real case examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. In addition, the impact of web-based applications on statistical process control is also evaluated by analytical tools, such as SWOT analysis, activity- based costing analysis, simulation and design of experiment. This book is written for anyone who is in either academics or the industry and interested in multistage process control.
