There are many colleges that are facing problems attracting enough students to fill their classrooms and therefore are operating under financial pressure. Almost all of these colleges are hurt by the budget cut and are considering and trying different options and ways to survive. Today, the trend in many for-profit educational institutions is to extensively employ new technologies in developing and presenting courses and programs. The Internet is capable of supporting and delivering education to many people, including those who are physically disabled or cannot attend classrooms otherwise. This book is trying to find out if offering courses and programs on the Internet can help small colleges and universities in establishing a more secure financial situation. Moreover, the purpose of the study presented in this book is to investigate the efficacy of different modalities of delivering online courses or programs by a college. What types of courses are appropriate to be taught online and how: delivered fully online or a combination of online and on-campus?
